JCU Infrastructure

JCU HPC offers significant benefits for researchers.

  • Approximately 600TiB of storage available for consumption.
  • Protection against disk failures and silent data corruption.
  • Replication of data to QCIF(Bne).
  • Environment meets government research data retention requirements.

See HPRC Storage for more information on methods to access HPRC storage from your desktop/laptop computer.

RDSI Infrastructure (QCIF)

JCU has partnered with Queensland Cyber-Infrastructure Foundation (QCIF) to introduce additional storage to meet requirements of research projects with national significance.  QCIF apply a merit based approval process to storage requests, but several JCU researchers have been successful in their applications.

  • Approximately 2000TiB of storage available for consumption.
  • Protection against disk failures and silent data corruption.
  • Replication of data to Springfield (near Ipswich) - 2 extra copies.
  • Environment meets government research data retention requirements.
  • This storage is, by a long way, the fastest storage running at JCU (speeds up to 1Tb/s are possible, in theory).
