Unplanned Outage - All Network Services, Carins Campus D1, D2 and D3



Who is Affected: All Students and Staff – Cairns Campus building D1, D2 and D3
Service Affected:  All services using the network e.g.: Internet, Telephone, Video Conferencing etc.
When: 5th August 2015 – 8:15am AEST
ETA: Services restored  5th August 2015 – 10am AEST

Description: At 8am this morning problems with network connections were reported in Cairns buildings D2 and D3 and later during the morning D1. Problems included slow or failed connections to web pages and web services, one way speech on Telephones, general failure of devices requiring network connectivity.  The JCU Network team were able trace the issue to one of the network switches that feeds the entire D precinct and took steps to resolve the issue.

What do I need to do? Please contact the IT Help Desk if you are still experiencing issues as a result of this outage and require further assistance.
