Unplanned Outage - HPC Storage Offline



Who is Affected: All JCU Researchers using HPC storage from HPC cluster, VMs, or their desktop.
Service Affected:  Fileshares on HPC storage
When: 25th May 2015  – 4:30pm AEST
ETA: Restored 26th May 2015 – 7:55am AEST

Description: The HPC NAS (Network Attached Storage) server stopped providing filesharing services at about 4:30pm, 25th May 2015. The problem was resolved by migrating services to the standby HPC NAS server.  All services should now be working as expected.  Continue to use HPC and RDSI resources as you did prior to this incident occurring. You may need to unmount/eject the HPC fileshare from your computing system and then remount/attach it, if you are unable to connect.

What do I need to do?  Please contact HPC if you are still experiencing issues as a result of this outage and require further assistance or if you can identify other issues this incident may have caused.
