Planned Outage - Network Services Unavailable After Hours, Building 134 Townsville Campus

Who is Affected: All JCU staff and students Building 134 (Ground Floor) Townsville Campus
Service Affected:  Network Services
When: 20th May, 2015 – 8:00pm AEST
ETA: Services expected to be restored Midnight 20th May, 2015 AEST

Description: Over the next few days ICT will begin the pilot of the Network replacement project, beginning in Education Central (Building 134).  All work will be taking place after hours so as to minimally impact operations.  The schedule for the next few days is:

·         Wednesday ICT will be conducting off line testing of the pilot network, in preparation for installation on Wednesday evening.

·         Commencing at 8 pm on Wednesday, the project will replace the Data Network on the Ground floor.  Between 8 pm and midnight, the network will be unavailable on the ground floor of Education Central (Building 134)

·         On Thursday the ground floor will be operating on the new network equipment.

What do I need to do? Please contact the IT Help Desk if you are still experiencing issues in building 134 on Thursday 21st May, as a result of this changeover and require further assistance.   There will be additional ICT staff on-hand Thursday, to assist with resolution of any unplanned issues.
