Students who have a SA in Senior Japanese are not permitted to enrol in this subject.
This subject is designed for complete beginners. It introduces the syllabary writing
system of hiragana as well as the fundamentals of kanji, and starts building elementary
conversation skills.
Learning Outcomes
- apply skills necessary to deal with numbers and time expressions, read and write simple
passages in hiragana, and recognise approximately twenty kanji characters.
