The subject explores culturally rich and unique models of Indigenous entrepreneurship and juxtaposes against Western notions of entrepreneurship. This enables a full appreciation of the major differences and opportunities which may arise from their recognition including entrepreneurial predisposition of culturally diverse individuals. This subject similarly scrutinizes models of ethnic entrepreneurship to understand the enablers of ethnic entrepreneurial success and factors which present major challenges.

Learning Outcomes

  • evaluate the cultural impacts upon Western, Ethic and Indigenous models of entrepreneurship;
  • critically analyse Western, Ethnic and Indigenous models of entrepreneurship;
  • critically analyse the enablers of Western, Ethic and Indigenous models of entrepreneurship and those factors which limit their success.
