Available to any students with an interest in physiology, excluding Nursing Science
and Pharmacy students.
This subject provides the student with the foundation knowledge for further studies
in human physiology and pharmacology. It covers a diversity of functions of the human
body including cell and tissue organisation; tissue excitation; electrophysiology;
blood and lymph and the physiology of the nervous, musculoskeletal, cardiovascular
and immune systems. This knowledge is essential for careers in health related areas,
human biomedical research and drug research and development.

- electrical communication within excitable tissues;
- functional and structural aspects of the nervous, musculoskeletal, cardiovascular
and immune systems;
- overall body structure and organisation;
