This subject will equip the learner to develop an extended set of competencies in the area of Mental Health, one of the extension curriculum areas of the ACRRM curriculum. Students will critically reflect on and audit their own practice, review relevant literature and demonstrate the ability to synthesise and apply findings to their own clinical context. The subject comprises a program of clinical placement and study. (The clinical placement may occur in the student's own workplace if they are able to gain experience relevant to the clinical area of Mental Health and will require work based assessment.)

Learning Outcomes

  • skills in identifying medical problems and developing appropriate strategies for their solution;
  • review current literature on a specific subject area and apply findings to own practice;
  • ability to critically reflect on own practice in content area of Mental Health;
  • demonstrate extended ability in working from an evidence base in Mental Health.
