- a good knowledge of the mineral processes from the mining stage to the production
of the final metal;
- a good understanding of the principles of the unit operations employed in minerals
and solids processing;
- the ability to design processes for solids and slurry handling;
- the ability to communicate effectively on various aspects of minerals and solids processing
via assignments and laboratory reports;
- reinforcement of skills in a) the use of software tools such as word processor, equation
editor and spreadsheet; and b) clear and concise report writing.
