Subject available to international students enroled in the JCU Foundation Program who are seeking entry to a university course

This subject provides a pathway to further study in management and education at the diploma and degree levels. General principles of modern management are introduced to provide the student with a firm understanding of best management practice within modern business and develop skills for continued study aimed at professional and personal development. The art of good management, based on well developed managerial principles and practices, is examined in detail.

Learning Outcomes

  • understand key concepts involved in management, leadership and entrepreneurship;
  • describe theories, models and principles underpinning various forms of management;
  • develop strategic and operational plans;
  • understand the importance of communication in effective management.
