[Not offered in 2011]
|Student Contribution Band:||Band 3|
|Administered by:||School of Business|
This subject allows students who are already working in paid employment or voluntary positions to integrate real-world skills and experience with concepts from preceding and concurrent subjects. There may also be opportunities for some students to participate in a simulated business experience. The subject involves a limited series of workshops through which students develop, share and reflect on professional practice and behaviours in the workplace. Classroom and online learning is linked to the students' existing workplaces to facilitate the development of generic workplace skills and application of course specific knowledge. Students will participate in a workplace-based project for the business, industry, government or community-based organisation with which they are associated. This might include, but is not limited to a field-based project, individual case study or industry or corporate analysis. The subject also provides an opportunity for students to begin identifying and collecting data for suitable areas of study should they enrol on an honours year. A quota applies to this subject. Students will be selected on the basis of GPA or at the discretion of the Head of School.
