An introduction to experimental and survey design and analysis. Topics include the principles of sampling design; hypothesis generation for experiments; collection of data; manipulations and interpretation of data; statistical methods used in science; and the use of data in scientific reports.

  • select and apply advanced analytical methods appropriate to assessing a wide array of scientific data;
  • appropriately design, execute and report scientific experiments and survey programs;
  • demonstrate advanced computer skills for managing and analysing complex data and reporting this in professional quality graphical presentations.
