RD7001 - Planning the Research: Doctoral Candidates

This subject will demonstrate that the research higher degree candidate's project is of a suitable scope and standard for the degree and that the candidate has the capacity to complete the project in a timely manner with the resources available. The Advisory Panel will assist the candidate to complete the following tasks to the satisfaction of their Candidature Committee: research proposal on approved generic pro-forma, public proposal seminar; any required Animal or Human Ethics Permits.

  • skills to design and communicate research at the appropriate level in accordance with the Australian Qualifications Framework.

Subject Assessment

  • proposal seminar 30-40 minute public seminar (40%)
  • research proposal on required pro-forma (60%)
  • supplementary english training - as required (%)
  • skip program - required for international students unless exemption granted (%)
  • ethics applications completing required ethics pro-forma(s) (%).
