Students who have a SA in Senior Japanese are not permitted to enrol in this subject.
This subject introduces the syllabary writing system of katakana, and continues building
elementary level communicative skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing.
Learning Outcomes
- apply skills necessary to exchange greetings; talk about families, age and occupations;
carry out elementary shopping tasks; order meals and drinks; discuss locations; where
things are and how they are placed; describe qualities such as big, small, etc.; talk
about likes and dislikes; communicate succesfully in reading and writing on the above
topics; and recognise tweny five additional kanji characters on top of the
twenty learned in JA1001.
