This subject's aim is to equip students with the support to develop research skills
and design and conduct a research study relevant to their area of interest. In particular
students will develop skills in constructing a research hypothesis, developing a protocol
that addresses the hypothesis, performing a literature search and review and presentation
of those elements in a seminar format. Students will also learn about ethical research
and good clinical practice as it relates to the conduct of their research.
Learning Outcomes
- Demonstrate an understanding of your research area;
- Develop skills in verbal and written research presentations;
- Understand ethical conduct as it relates research practice;
- Apply the processes involved in developing a research proposal, reviewing literature,
conducting the research and disseminating the outcomes.
Subject Assessment
- Oral > Presentation 1 - (20%) - Individual
- Complete the Epigeum Research Methodologies Literature Review - (%) - Individual
- Written > Literature review - (40%) - Individual
- Written > Proposal - (40%) - Individual.

MUST HAVE COMPLETED 18 CREDIT POINTS OF LEVEL 5, 6, 7 HS SUBJECTS PLUS 3 CREDIT POINTS
OF ANY SUBJECT, OR BY PERMISSION OF COURSE CO-ORDINATOR.
