Available only to students enrolled in specialist studies within the Bachelor of Education,
Bachelor of Education with Honours; Joint Degrees with BEd and BEd(Honours). Enrolment
in ED4487 requires permission of the Director of Professional Experience.
This subject is part of the developmental curriculum for Professional Experience for
students with a specialist area within the Bachelor of Education program. Students
will be allocated a school and attend for 10 allocated days, completing a range of
activities to develop an understanding of the complexities of teachers' roles within
the specialist field of the student.
Learning Outcomes
- identify, analyse and support a range of learner differences relevant to the specialist
area in an education setting;
- participate ethically in a range of activities within an education setting;
- plan, manage, teach, evaluate one week full time equivalent block in the specialist
area;
- use a repertoire of language and literacy skills appropriate to the teaching profession
and the specialist area.
Subject Assessment
- Satisfactory completion of all Professional Experience requirements.
Special Assessment Requirements
The completion of the required consecutive 10 days of Professional Experience and
submission of a Satisfactory grading - Minimum of Graduate Level in all descriptors
against the Professional Experience QPERF Report is a requirement to pass this subject.
Attendance at Professional Experience Workshops is an essential component of the Program
for Professional Practice.
