This subject explores and critically analyses the links between social policy and
human service practice. Contemporary social policy is both a field of study that examines
the causes and understandings of social problems and social need, and a set of practices
aimed at enhancing citizen well-being. Both concepts are examined in this subject
through the critical analysis of relevant social policy issues, policy analysis frameworks
and case studies.
