TV5101 - Veterinary Science Honours Part 1 of 2

Available to students who have been awarded a Bachelor of Veterinary Science degree
from James Cook University within 5 years of proposed enrolment.
This subject is the first of two subjects (the other being TV5102) that in combination
constitute the full-time honours in the Discipline of Veterinary Science. The subject
consists of research undertaken for preparation of a thesis and seminars which accompany
the research process. Students will be able to choose a research project from veterinary
sciences, clinical veterinary science and veterinary practice offered in the discipline.
All projects are subject to approval by the honours coordinator of the Veterinary
- to enable students to analyse data, apply and use appropriate methods and critically
- to develop the skills required to carry out a literature search and to critically
evaluate the literature;
- to develop the skills necessary to formulate a research question and project plan.

As this subject is part of a subject chain, a final
standard grade (e.g. P, C) will only be recorded
for each subject after successful completion of all
parts of the subject chain.
