TO5520 - Professional Placement/Internship

This subject gives students an authentic industry work experience to facilitate the connection between theory and practice, and to heighten awareness of issues associated with professional practice in their chosen field. Immersion in a professional work environment will also support reflection on, and further development of, the graduate attributes that contribute to success transition to work after graduation. These placements will be allocated by the university on a selective basis. Students will undertake a minimum of 100 hours of supervised work in an approved industry workplace related to their field of study, with a focus on tasks and activities that are relevant to their specialisation and skill level.

Learning Outcomes

  • describe structure, capabilities, and responsibilities of various roles in relevant projects, workplaces, and work forces;

    The student workload for this 3 credit point subject is approximately 130 hours.

    • 16 hours workshops - Job Search Bootcamp: contributes to placement assignment
    • 4 hours - Meetings with Academic Placement Coordinators
