This subject will provide students with the opportunity to experience the various
roles of clinical exercise physiologists in work environments. This subject comprises
a combination of online learning and compulsory face to face (clinical placement)
activities where students observe and work with health professionals, being exposed
to and undertaking tasks related to clinical exercise physiology. In this subject
students will attain advanced knowledge and skills in clinical exercise physiology
practice, including professional codes of conduct, ethical behavior in healthcare
settings, practitioner/client relationship dynamics, and supervisor/student communication.
Students will also explore clinical reasoning and critical reflection within the workplace.
Learning Outcomes
- demonstrate advanced practice skills in clinical exercise physiology within workplaces,
independently designing, implementing, adapting,and evaluating safe and effective
clinical exercise physiology services;
- demonstrate knowledge and application in clinical reasoning and critical reflection
in healthcare practice;
- operate as a healthcare professional within healthcare settings, demonstrating skills
in effective communication and referring, self- management, and leadership; and abiding
by codes of conduct, and ethical, legal, safety, cultural, and privacy responsibilities.

Special Assessment Requirements
Passing requirements: complete and submit all assessment items; pass every assessment
