This subject will cover and explore topics relevant to performance in sport and exercise.
These topics may include: motivation, arousal, stress and anxiety with sport and exercise
performance; sport and exercise behavioural skills training; communication and positive
psychology and behavioural determinants of physical activity.
Learning Outcomes
- identify and implement appropriate behavioural theories, measures and strategies to
enhance engagement in sport and exercise settings;
- identify the relationships between exercise, physical activity and sport, and mental
health;
- identify the role of psychosocial behaviour within human behaviour.

- Written > Examination (centrally administered) - (50%) - Individual
- Written > Test/Quiz 1 - (10%) - Individual
- Oral > Presentation 1 - (20%) - Individual
- Participation > Class participation - (%) - Individual
- Written > Case report 1 - (20%) - Individual.
Special Assessment Requirements
Passing requirements: complete and submit all assessment items; achieve a cumulative
score of at least 50% after the application of any penalties such as late penalties;
participate in at least 80% of scheduled workshops.
