Candidates will prepare a substantive literature review on a specialised topic within the natural sciences. The topic is to be selected in consultation with a suspervisor(s). The review should be a critical appraisal of the objectives, methodologies and results of previous research relating to the topic.

Learning Outcomes

  • the ability to understand theoretical concepts in a range of topics which give background to the research;
  • acquire proficiency in critical literature evaluation;
  • gain experience in problem-solving and scientific decision-making;
  • develop skills in preparing and presenting written technical reports.
