Students will independently plan, design and commence research in an applied setting or clinical practice. The study should demonstrate original and critical thought and should relate to a well defined area of mental health. The research planned should have the capacity to make a significant, substantial and original contribution to knowledge.

Learning Outcomes

  • to prepare a comprehensive literature review and detailed research proposal.

Subject Assessment

  • Assessment relevant to the thesis proposal to the satisfaction of the thesis adviser; preparation of a research proposal; presentation of a seminar based on the thesis proposal; submission of the proposal to the University Ethics Committee.
