Available to graduates who have reached a satisfactory standing in physics and mathematics
at this University. Graduates from other universities with equivalent qualifications
will be considered for acceptance. Except with the approval of the Head of School/Associate
Dean, allsubjects in a chain must be studied in consecutive teaching periods.
Areas of research emphasis in physics are theoretical physics; biomechanics; physical
oceanography and meteorology. The honours year is primarily a preparation for students
wishing to undertake a research higher degree.
Learning Outcomes
- ability to carry out a substantial piece of research and write a dissertation;
- ability to formulate and solve research problems;
- to understand theoretical concepts in a broad range of topics which give background
to the research project.
