OT3001 - Occupational Therapy Independent Study

Available to level 3 and above Occupational Therapy and Occupational Therapy IHCAP students. Other students enrolled in Occupational Therapy with recognised prior learning as approved by the Head of Occupational Therapy including other health postgraduate students.

The subject provides basic knowledge to enable students to develop skills to investigate in depth a chosen area of health professional practice. Students will extend and consolidate their knowledge and expertise in a chosen area of health professional service.

Learning Outcomes

  • define a clinical problem;
  • conduct a literature search;
  • write a literature review;
  • oral presentation using MacMasters Critical Appraisal Tool.
Prerequisites: HS2401 AND HS2402 AND HS2403 AND (OT2013 OR OT2003) AND (OT2014 OR OT2004) AND (OT2015 OR OT2006 AND RH2001) AND RH2002

Workload expectations:

Special Assessment Requirements: Student attendance at the presentations is compulsory and is a pass/fail component.
