Available to level 3 and above Occupational Therapy and Occupational Therapy IHCAP students. Other students enrolled in Occupational Therapy with recognised prior learning as approved by the Head of Occupational Therapy including other health postgraduate students.
This subject aims to consolidate students' skills in evidence based practice, including the ability to formulate answerable clinical questions, develop effective search strategies and critically appraise the research literature. Students will learn how to be critical consumers of the research literature. Additionally they will be introduced to the skills required for knowledge translation (transfer of quality evidence into actual practice).
Passing requirements: complete and submit all assessment items; achieve a cumulative score of at least 50% after the application of any penalties such as late penalties; pass every assessment item; participate in at least 80% of scheduled workshops.
