This subject will extend students' theoretical knowledge and clinical skills in relation to advanced decision making in complex situations in dietetics practice. The subject aims to equip students with the skills and expertise to collaborate with other health professionals in a range of health settings to establish networks and protocols to achieve the best nutrition outcomes for patients. A range of topics will be presented focussing on current trends and innovations at the system level, for example, nutrition screening; nutrition support protocols; food service management and delivery systems; referral systems; and stakeholder engagement; and also at the group and individual client level, including complex presentations across the lifecourse; co-morbidities and the development of chronic condition prevention and self-management programs.
Passing requirements: complete and submit all assessment items; achieve a cumulative score of at least 50% inclusive of any penalties applied; achieve satisfactory/pass for portfolio and online tasks; attend face to face workshop.
