This subject builds upon students' existing knowledge of pharmacology and explores
principles relevant to the quality use of medicines in practice. Students will explore
concepts and apply systems for reducing medication mishaps and administer and supply
medications in vulnerable populations safely. Students will apply concepts of drug

as well as evaluating response to medical therapy. Students will also explore legislative,
regulatory and professional frameworks that inform the administration and supply of
medications in their own practice setting. Finally, students will apply different
sources of medication information and treatment guidelines to inform their own safe
use of medicines and provide patient education.
