In the healthcare environment, clinical coaches work to support the professional learning
and development for a variety of learners to maximise their potential. In this subject,
students will explore contemporary frameworks and strategies that inform the role
of a clinical coach. Students will reflect on their own values and beliefs about healthcare
education, and the influence of these on the practice of clinical coaching.
Learning Outcomes
- Critically reflect on self and professional development needs as a clinical coach;
- Interpret and apply key frameworks and strategies that inform clinical coaching;
- Critically analyse the role of the clinical coach in relation to other educational
roles in healthcare;
- Devise an action plan based on clinical coaching frameworks and strategies to facilitate
clinical learning and development in a healthcare context.
Subject Assessment
- Written > Test/Quiz 1 - (10%) - Individual
- Oral > Presentation 1 - (50%) - Individual
- Written > Case study analysis - (40%) - Individual.
Special Assessment Requirements
Passing requirements: complete and submit all assessment items; achieve a cumulative
score of at least 50% after the application of any penalties such as late penalties.
