In this subject students will commence consolidation of knowledge and skills acquired in previous subjects and apply these to the planning and delivery of comprehensive person centered patient care. Students will develop skills in nursing leadership, advocacy and conflict resolution to enhance positive patient and professional relationships.

Learning Outcomes

  • use and interpret assessment data to plan and evaluate progress towards patient centered goals;
  • respond appropriately to changes to patients' mental and physical health status;
  • utilise leadership, advocacy and conflict resolution skills to build and maintain relationships in the multidisciplinary team;
  • apply the Registered Nurse standards for practice in the provision of extended person centered evidenced based nursing care in contexts of practice unique to Australia.

Special Assessment Requirements

Passing requirements: complete and submit all assessment items; participate in at least 80% of scheduled tutorial classes/specified online content; participate in all scheduled clinical skills classes; achieve a satisfactory grade for the portfolio assessment task, clinical calculations test and PEP; achieve a cumulative score of at least 50% after the application of any penalties such as late penalties.
