This subject prepares the student for transition to the professional role. The importance
of life long learning is reinforced and students are encouraged to articulate the
philosophy that guides their practice. Concepts and strategies for sustainable health
care are explored. In this subject students will prepare for their graduate year and
plan for future career development.
Learning Outcomes
- demonstrate accountability for the professional development of self and others;
- undertake preparation for transition to the professional role;
- critically examine trends and challenges in sustainable health care;
- articulate a personal philosophy for nursing/midwifery.

Special Assessment Requirements
Passing requirements: complete and submit all assessment items; participate in at
least 80% of scheduled tutorial classes/specified online content; achieve a cumulative
score of at least 50% after the application of any penalties such as late penalties.
