An introduction to marine biology and ecology. A description of tropical marine ecosystems, with a focus on mangrove and coastal ecosystems, coral reefs and seagrass ecosystems. An examination of reproduction and dispersal of marine organisms. A brief review of the influence of man on marine systems.
|Students enrolling in this subject should have a good understanding of level 1 biology, particularly zoology (eg BZ1001, ZL1001 or BZ1004).|
