Learning Outcomes

  • gain an appreciation of the benefits and the limitations of a numerical solutions of a problem;
  • be able to understand the principles behind a range of numerical algorithms;
  • be able to implement these algorithms using MATLAB;
  • understand the properties of a matrix, in particular those properties that relate to eigenvalues and eigenvectors.
