This subject provides an opportunity for students to study in a non-English speaking
country for up to 21 days. Through this subject, students will develop knowledge of
a language other than English and acquire skills to assist them in becoming more effective
intercultural communicators. Students are required to complete a minimum of 30 hours
of formal language instruction in a host country and engage in excursions, field trips
as well as (where possible) home-stay accommodation to support their learning.

Learning Outcomes
- critically reflect on the complex and multifaceted relationship between languages,
cultures, communication and identity;
- demonstrate ability to communicate at a beginner level in the language of the host
country.
Subject Assessment
- Oral > Presentation 1 - (50%) - Individual
- Performance/Practice/Product > Creative work - (50%) - Individual.
