This subject introduces the context, rationale, strategy and tactics of project management. The main model followed it is the international Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK - US Based PMI). The context and learning of the subject will prepare students with competencies to operate in a range of industries, including engineering, information technology, consulting, production, procurement, maintenance, logistics and supply chain, health, defence, construction, and manufacturing. Key topics covered include project scope, planning, procurement, integration, stakeholders and resource management.

Learning Outcomes

  • analyse and appraise key concepts, processes and procedures of project management;
  • develop and implement a project scope through the application of project management tools to meet the needs of stakeholders;
  • identify and use key performance metrics for project success.
