Available to students enrolled in the Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma and Master
of Health Professional Education, Graduate Diploma of Rural and Remote Medicine, Master
of Rural and Remote Medicine or by permission of the Subject or Course Coordinator
or Head of School.
This subject provides an opportunity for health professionals to design, teach, evaluate
and report on a series of learning sessions using the action research framework.
Learning Outcomes
- Differentiate between quantitative and qualitative research;
- Recognise the role of research in the professional development of educators;
- Design and implement a series of experiential learning sessions;
- Apply the action research learning paradigm to a series of learning sessions;
- Evaluate and appraise learning sessions using an action learning framework.
Subject Assessment
- Oral > Presentation 1 - (35%) - Individual
- Written > Literature review - (40%) - Individual
- Written > Proposal - (25%) - Individual.
