This subject will extend clinical staff knowledge and application of understanding of Trauma-Informed Practices, including a life span perspective of attachment, the neurodevelopmental effects of complex trauma and the effects of intergenerational trauma. Topics will allow clinicians to develop advanced knowledge and skills relevant to the health service response to community disaster events such as natural disasters including service planning and coordination with community stakeholders as well as the provision of direct client services where appropriate. As well, clinicians will develop advanced skills enabling them to lead the implementation of programs and initiatives aimed at increasing awareness and responsivity of the organisation to complex social issues such as child protection and family violence, including embedding Trauma Informed Care principles into organisational procedure and responses.
Passing requirements: pass every assessment item; achieve a cumulative score of at least 50% after the application of any penalties such as late penalties.
