Available to Information Technology postgraduate students only with the permission
of the program co-ordinator.
An independent study and/or research devoted to a topic of special interest to the
student and/or relevance to the enrolled course. The subject is developed in consultation
with a member of staff of the Discipline of Information Technology within the College
of Science and Engineering.
Learning Outcomes
- ability to demonstrate capabilities and understanding at a level appropriate for postgraduate
studies, including analysis and design.
Subject Assessment
- Oral > Presentation 1 - (30%) - Individual
- Written > Literature review - (70%) - Individual.
Special Assessment Requirements
Assessment in this subject involves significant on-course assessment including assignments

the class in the first week of the semester in which the subject is offered.
