An independent study and/or research devoted to a topic of special interest to the student and/or relevance to the enrolled course. The subject is developed in consultation with a member of staff of the Discipline of Information Technology within the College of Science and Engineering.

Learning Outcomes

  • ability to demonstrate capabilities and understanding at a level appropriate for postgraduate studies, including analysis and design.

Subject Assessment

  • Oral > Presentation 1 - (30%) - Individual
  • Written > Literature review - (70%) - Individual.

Special Assessment Requirements

Assessment in this subject involves significant on-course assessment including assignments and presentations. The full details of the assessment are handed out to students in the class in the first week of the semester in which the subject is offered.
