Except with the approval of the Head of the School of Pharmacy and Molecular Sciences,
all subjects in a chain must be studied in consecutive teaching periods.
This subject is the fourth of four subjects (the others being CH4004, CH4005, and
CH4006) that in combination constitute the part-time subjects required to complete
Honours part-time in the Discipline of Chemistry. The subject is a combination of
a major research project and a selection of readings/seminars designed to complement
the subject matter of the research project.
Learning Outcomes
- to allow students to extend their understanding of chemistry by undertaking advanced
level short courses in chemistry;
- to allow students to develop practical skills in Chemistry by undertaking a major
research project in a chemistry research laboratory.
Subject Assessment
- 10% for each of three completed subjects selected with supervisor's approval - (30%) - Individual
- 45%: Thesis. 20%: Supervisor marks on productivity and intellectual ownership. 5%:
Oral Presentation - (70%) - Individual.
