This subject is the capstone subject for the HRM major and provides opportunities
for students to reflect on, integrate, and extend their learning from other subjects.
It encourages students to critically analyse a range of current Australian and global
issues as they relate to contemporary HRM theory and practice, such as virtual workplaces,
off-shoring/outsourcing, work-life balance, organisational learning, and the psychological
contract. It fosters awareness of HR issues as a source of competitive advantage for
the organisation in various contexts, including those peculiar to tropical regions.
Further, through in-depth exploration of contemporary issues, concerns, and controversies
in the HRM area, students will develop their skills in identifying and analysing problems
in HRM.
Learning Outcomes
