Except with the approval of the Head of School or Faculty Registrar, all subjects
in a chain must be studied in consecutive teaching periods.
Honours projects are individual, supervised analyses of topics relevant to specific
areas of business. The thesis will normally be completed and submitted by mid-October
and will be of the order of 12,000-15,000 words. The thesis will be prepared according
to the format of the journal in which it might be published. A public presentation
of the thesis is part of the assessment.
Learning Outcomes
- provide a focus for students so that they can integrate material from other subjects
in one specific setting;
- provide students with the opportunity to develop a substantial piece of work on a
topic of special interest to them;
- develop objective research skills to dissect, analyse and appraise one facet pertaining
to the School of Business without bias or favour;
- deepen students understanding of one particular facet pertaining to the School of
Business by a concentration on one setting with more sustained attention than is required
in essays, practicals etc.
