Available to students admitted in the Graduate Certificate of Science, Graduate Diploma of Science, Master of Science, Master of Science (Professional), Graduate Certificate of Development Practice, Graduate Diploma of Development Practice or Master of Development Practice.
This subject discusses the factors which should be considered for the design of a system for culturing aquatic organisms. It addresses fundamental principles and concepts rather than describing how to grow a particular species. Therefore, as a result of studying this subject, students will be able to complete a design for a system for culturing any aquatic species. A sound knowledge of aquaculture practices will be assumed. This subject shares lectures, tutorials and practical classes with AQ3008.
|Students enrolling in this subject should have an undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline (eg marine biology, biology or aquaculture) or have acquired equivalent knowledge through other study or industry experience. They should have an excellent understanding of science subjects including basic biology, chemistry, aquaculture and statistics.|
